Mycoplasma
Mycoplasma can best be discribed as a parasitic microbe. It does not have a cell wall, and as such is resitant to many of the penicillin based antibiotics. Most people clear mycoplasma infections on their own, but in some it can become a chronic infection. Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic arthritis and other medical conditions have been associated with mycoplasma. Some researchers feel that Gulf War Syndrome is a chronic mycoplasma infection.
