FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will my screening be in the office? Your COVID-19 screening will be conducted via telemedicine. Once your appointment is scheduled, you will be sent a confirmation text/e-mail with instructions for accessing your telemedicine appointment.
Who can be tested? PrimeCare follows CDC guidelines and recommendations for testing. Individuals with COVID-19 symptom(s) and healthcare workers and first responders are eligible for COVID-19 screenings.
Where do I go for testing? Our Courtland facility offers drive up testing 7 days a week by appointment only. When you arrive, please pull up to the designated testing area.
Which lab is used? We are currently sending to LabCorp for processing.
When will I receive results? Turnaround time for results have dramatically reduced. Results are typically received within 24-48 hours and a PrimeCare provider will call you personally with the results.
What is the cost? For self-pay patients, the cost of the telemedicine visit is $49. If testing is ordered, there is an additional fee of $51. You will not receive a separate bill from our reference lab. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for insured patients.
Can I be tested with an order from my primary care physician? Currently we are only testing patients with orders from our providers. Can I pay to be tested even if I have no symptoms? No. Testing is not indicated in patients without symptoms. Other facilities offer testing without a physician order, but we currently do not.
Do you accept all insurance plans? PrimeCare accepts most major insurance plans. For COVID-19 related services, PrimeCare will bill all insurance plans, regardless of participation, as a courtesy to patients. We highly encourage you to check with your health plan to verify your coverage and any cost share obligations.
